Bio composite

The innovative and highly sustainable composite material is 100% biomaterial, made from 30% flax linen and 70%
basalt fibres. Flax (0mg CO2/kg) and basalt (90mg CO2/kg) have a low carbon footprint compared to regular glass
fibre (120mg CO2/kg), and substantially lower when compared to traditional concrete (915mg CO2/kg), which most
floating platforms are built upon.

Maintenance

The SEANICS® modules are low and easy in maintenance. The biocomposite hull structure is resistant to corrosion and welcomes the natural fortification of marine growths. In addition, the exterior wood cladding is hardened for all types of weather.

Maintenance tasks

  • Ballast tank service check (yearly)
  • Salt water spray on wood (yearly)
  • Basic maintenance (cleaning and washing)
  • Top-up polish (every 5 years)

Installation

The SEANICS® modules have built-in lifting lugs for easy deployment, directly on-site. From there, it is a simple plug-and-play exercise for water and electricity connection.

The standard SEANICS® modules (20ft & 40ft) are dimensioned and optimized for flat-bed truck transportation, which means they are quickly carried to any geographic site connected to European mainland by bridge. However, water transportation is of course also viable.

Rooflights windows and panoramic view

All modules are per default installed with VELUX® rooflight window, to bring in daylight and fresh air with this globally
renowned product.

Furthermore, 2 of the module’s 4 walls are installed with panoramic windows.
These specifications can be adjusted according to custom demands.

Solar power

The modules’ rooftop can be installed with solar panels to optimize energy consumption in accordance with the
module’s efficient and sustainable design. The solar energy can be stored in special lithium batteries (see below).

SEANICS® collaborates with MG Solar and the Technical University of Denmark.

Expected energy yield, 20ft module:

  • 6 panels / 2,1 kW installed effect
  • Min. 1800 kWh yearly effect
  • Yearly CO2 savings equal to 540kg/module or 1 persons avg. yearly energy consumption

Lithium battery bank

In order to store solar power, smart system lithium battery banks can be installed into the modules. Saving money on
the energy bill, increasing the independence of the energy grid as well as the green footprint.

SEANICS® collaborates with Xolta (division of LiTHIUM BALANCE) for cutting edge solar energy storage solutions and
battery management systems.
